There is a difference between the services of a landscaper who is employed to maintain a community and one who is privately hired to maintain a residence.
A community landscaping company is not exclusive to a single community, unless the community is large enough to support an in-house company devoted to that specific community’s needs. There is a set amount of time, decided by the landscape company, to allow their landscape personnel to perform certain tasks. A community landscape crew may spend the entire day or week in one community or may have to attend to another community (or several communities) in the same day. Their basic function is mowing lawns and trimming hedges and shrubs. Planting and tree removal are special tasks that are scheduled by the community when there is need.
A private landscaper, in addition of having the ability to maintain a lawn and trim hedges and shrubs, is hired to perform any and all tasks that an owner may desire. The owner has control of their landscaper’s time as dictated by what they ask of them and can indicate how they wish to have their property appear when the landscaper is finished. A private landscaper has more freedom to be artistic and more time to be fastidious to detail.
Understanding that while there are major differences between the two, the reality is that there is a purpose and place for both types in the realm of landscaping. Our community enjoys the best of both worlds and we appreciate that our residents take pride in their homes.
